Two notes. First, I downloaded 2.0 yesterday thanks to macrumors.com which is why I can provide this super amazing picture from an app called sketch. (I am teh r0x0rz11!!1!!one!!!) Second, I came by the ATT store at 4:00 this morning expecting that I was a fool and nobody would be in line... There are apprx 40 people here!! And amazingly, the people are quite dumb about the iPhone. Somebody bring me starbucks! |

We wrapped up our first day in Rome with a late night stroll to the trevi fountain. We weren't the only ones with that idea - I am convinced that 50% of central Rome is tourists. So, where there are tourists, there are vendors. These in particular were extra pushy and almost ruined the night, but the fountain was beautiful, so that made up for it. Tomorrow we visit other roman things and fly back to London. Wish us well as we are anxious about the flight! |

After 5 days of walking non-stop, we feel like our legs might need to be amputated. Brooke has a nagging knee injury and walks around like a gimp, I have a foot thing, but since I'm so manly, I still walk normally :-). The second day in Rome went really quickly - we saw all of our "scheduled" sites by 2:00. So, we had the opportunity to see some of the other sites again. Today was also extra cold while yesterday was toasty. Pictures here is a random bridge/arch in the city that reminded us a lot of our wedding (only 6 days ago). |

You guessed it, we missed our connection to DFW. Good thing I took the day off work just in case! It really wasn't too bad ok the plane except for a few crying babies. Continental did all the could to keep us informed amd comfortable. What happened was they got more snow at the airport than they expected and the airport wasn't prepared AT ALL. There were only a few de-icing trucks available and as I'd turns out, the airport is run by a couple British airlines and wouldn't you know that their flights mysteriously got de-icing priority over ours even though our flight was due to leave sooner. As soon as we got to IAH, we sprinted to the ticket counter to see of there was a late flight, but no luck. However, continental owns part of the Marriott attached to the airport, so we are staying here for free AND they gave us $40 to spend on food! So, we are basically getting to extend our honeymoon for an extra night! All is well!I apologize for not posting anything the last few days, I couldn't get access to wi-fi. I'll blog the other items I wanted to post soon! |

We made it to Rome! Hooray! We had another interseting time on the train that we'll have to tell you about another time, but because of that, we weren't able to blog last night. Today, things are going quite well, we had a little bit of a slow start trying to figure out how the bus system works here, but we are experts now. All of the ancient Roman sites are within 10 minutes walk of each other, so that has made things a little easier. The best site so far has been the Pantheon, the interior is in perfect condition and is extremely grand. We'll make sure to visit some of the sites tonight so we can take some even more beautiful pictures. Now, we are off to the Vatican. |

Afyer a late night, we got up early to make the trek to Sacre Coeur. Its the highest point in the city and offers a beautiful view! The only bad part I'd the street vendors who harass you to the point that you don't want to linger as long as you would like. They literally get right in front of you and grab you so that you will stop and they can sell you some lame stringy thing they call "art." Now we ate eating at the semi-famous McDonalds at the Arc du Triomphe - we promise ws are eating more authentic food, but couldn't pass on this super cool McDonalds. Next is the Louvre and some other places with funny names! |
